white spot pipe band
White Spot Pipe Band is an award-winning, performance and competitive pipe band based in Surrey, British Columbia.
Our band is made up of bagpipers, drummers, and highland dancers. We are the longest running youth pipe band program in the Pacific Northwest, established in 1963!
We accept all skill levels and no experience is needed to join our program!
We meet once a week for band practice, where members are taught by a group of exceptional Instructors in small classroom settings.
The band performs at community events throughout the year, including at the Vancouver Giants hockey games, the CIBC Run for the Cure, Remembrance Day ceremony, Robbie Burns celebrations, Community parades and various private events.
The White Spot Pipe Band is a member of the British Columbia Pipers Association (BCPA) and competes in the annual regional Highland Games circuit as a grade 4 band. The White Spot Pipe Band has won the Grade 4 Pipe Band Aggregate in the Pacific Northwest numerous times in the past 6 decades, with the last win being in 2019.
Many of the band members also compete in solo competition at these events and continuously rank in the top standing for their solo grade levels.
The White Spot Pipe Band has also travelled to Scotland to compete in the World Highland Games Championships many times in our band history.
Each year, we hold a Band Camp weekend early in the playing season. Band members receive intensive instruction during the day and participate in fun group activities in the evening. Band Camp is a great introduction to the band, and many friendships are formed here. The band members also participate in social events and team building activities throughout the year, culminating in a family BBQ in June where Band Awards are given out to deserving players.
