About the event

The Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) and various communities across Canada commemorate the Battle of the Atlantic each year on the first Sunday in May. This is a time to remember the sailors, merchant sailors, and aviators who perished during the longest campaign of World War II, which lasted from September 1939 to May 1945.
